Stepdown Registered Nurse | Fairmont, West Virginia in Fairmont, WV

Deliver skilled nursing care within a lower acuity stepdown setting, focusing on patient safety and comfort during night shifts. This role provides an excellent opportunity for experienced RNs with a background in telemetry and stepdown units to apply their expertise in a supportive environment. Schedule & Hours: • Night shift, 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. • Three 12-hour shifts per week • Work weekdays and every other weekend Core Responsibilities: • Provide comprehensive nursing care on a stepdown unit with a typical patient ratio of 1:4, adjusting to 1:5 in emergencies • Monitor telemetry and interpret cardiac strips accurately • Initiate and manage IV therapy • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure quality patient outcomes • Maintain accurate documentation using Cerner EMR Qualifications & Desired Experience: • Current RN license with at least 2 years of nursing experience • Minimum 1 year experience in medical-surgical or telemetry settings • Minimum 2 years experience in a stepdown nursing role • Proficient in telemetry monitoring and strip reading • BCLS and ACLS certifications required • Skilled in IV starts • Reliable attendance with a commitment to maintain low call-off rates Additional Information: • Scrubs are not provided; burgundy and/or white attire recommended • Travel experience is not required • Contract length is 13 weeks with possibility for extension This contract nursing opportunity demands dedication and clinical expertise on night shifts.
