Job Description
A rewarding opportunity is available for a skilled registered nurse experienced in stepdown care to provide essential support in a medical setting. This contract position involves working night shifts with consistent 12-hour hours, designed for those who thrive in fast-paced environments and have a strong foundation in cardiac monitoring and emergency response.

Responsibilities:
• Deliver comprehensive nursing care in MedSurg, Telemetry, and Stepdown/PCU units, maintaining a patient ratio of 1:5
• Manage advanced cardiac care, including initiation of IVs, administering Heparin protocols, and overseeing cardiac drips with strict adherence to protocols (no titration)
• Maintain vigilant cardiac monitoring and respond promptly to emergencies with a high level of skill and confidence
• Float between MedSurg units as needed to provide flexible support across departments
• Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
Required Qualifications:
• Current Alabama RN license with certifications in ACLS and BLS
• Experience in MS/Tele, Telemetry, and PCU/Stepdown or Med-Telemetry settings
• Demonstrated ability to handle cardiac emergencies and patient care with precision
• Comfortable working night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM (three 12-hour shifts weekly)
• Ability to start IVs and manage cardiac protocols accurately
• Open to local professionals within a 60-mile radius or first-time travelers willing to join on a contract basis
