Stepdown Registered Nurse | Jefferson City, Missouri in Jefferson City, MO

This nursing position offers an opportunity to deliver specialized care in a dynamic stepdown unit, providing support for patients recovering from various surgical and medical conditions. The role requires proficiency in managing complex clinical situations, including neuro patients and those requiring advanced cardiac and respiratory support. Responsibilities include managing patient care with a nurse-to-patient ratio that may be as low as 1:3, performing line management such as IV insertion, PICC/central line care, and dialysis fistula management. The candidate will be expected to titrate vasoactive drips including neosynephrine, amiodarone, and cardizem. Airway management skills are essential, with responsibilities such as CPAP/BiPAP management and trach care. Experience with orthopedic, musculoskeletal, or oncology patients is also required, including managing epidural and PCA pumps, feeding tubes, and wound vacs. This role requires flexibility, including floating to other units as needed. Qualifications/Desired Experience: • Registered Nurse with Stepdown unit experience • Proficient in IV insertion, central line management, and vascular device care • Skilled in vasoactive drip titration and advanced cardiac monitoring • Experience in airway management including CPAP, BiPAP, and tracheostomy care • Comfortable with orthopedic and oncology patient care including epidural/PCA pumps and wound vac management • Ability to float and adapt to changing patient needs Location: Situated in Jefferson City, Missouri, this location provides a vibrant community with rich history, outdoor recreational options, and convenient access to major urban centers.
