Stepdown Registered Nurse - La Plata, Maryland in La Plata, MD

Deliver specialized nursing care in a progressive stepdown setting located in La Plata, MD. This contract opportunity allows registered nurses with stepdown experience to apply critical skills in an Intermediate Care/Progressive Care Unit (IMC/PCU) environment. Candidates should be prepared for night shifts with a schedule of three 12-hour shifts from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM, including every other weekend. Qualifications and Experience: • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license • Minimum 2 years of experience in PCU, IMC, or Stepdown nursing • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required • Successful completion of the Relias EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam with at least 80% overall and 100% on lethal rhythms • Ability to float to Telemetry and Medical-Surgical units as needed • Comfortable managing patient ratios of 1:5 or 1:6 in various units • Open to first-time travel nurses; local candidates within 60 miles considered with adjusted compensation Responsibilities: • Deliver focused, high-quality care to patients requiring stepdown services • Interpret cardiac rhythms accurately and respond to patient needs promptly • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to plan and implement patient care • Adapt to float assignments between Telemetry and Medical-Surgical units based on patient census and staffing needs • Maintain compliance with hospital policies and clinical standards Location: La Plata, MD offers a charming community atmosphere with convenient access to metropolitan areas.
