An opportunity is available for an experienced RN with stepdown and Progressive Care Unit (PCU)/Intermediate Care (IMC) expertise in Las Vegas, NV. This contract role offers the chance to provide specialized nursing care in a dynamic hospital environment known for clinical excellence. This unit is a 48-bed stepdown/PCU located on the 2nd Floor South Tower of a major hospital. The patient ratio is 3-4:1, utilizing a primary nursing model without HUCs or PCTs. Nurses work with advanced equipment including in-room vital sign monitors, centralized telemetry, ventilators, BiPAP machines, Hoyer lifts, cardiac chairs, dopplers, bladder scanners, and ultrasound-guided IV devices. The documentation system used is Meditech. Key Responsibilities: Provide direct patient care with a focus on management of drips and ventilators. Perform advanced procedures such as chest tube care, central line management, minor urologic procedures, and emergency intubations. Ensure bedside shift reporting and utilize the AIDET communication framework to enhance patient experience. Adhere to unit policies, dress code (royal blue scrubs, no artificial nail polish), and floating policy prioritization. Maintain required certifications including BLS and ACLS. Qualifications: Experience in PCU/IMC settings is required. Skilled in care of ventilated patients and vasoactive drips. Valid BLS and ACLS certifications.
