This contract nursing opportunity offers a dedicated float pool role within a dynamic hospital setting, focusing on stepdown care for adult and geriatric patients. Nurses in this position will provide critical care on PCU and Medical-Surgical/Telemetry units, delivering expert care tailored to patients recovering from acute illness or injury. Responsibilities include conducting comprehensive patient assessments, developing and implementing effective care plans, medication administration, and collaborating closely with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient-centered care. The role demands clinical judgment to respond to rapidly changing patient conditions, with a focus on safety advocacy and quality improvement. Key Qualifications and Experience: • Active RN license with compact state coverage • Minimum 1 year RN experience required; 2 years preferred • BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale certification required • Dysrhythmia exam completion mandatory (study guide provided) • Experience in acute care, especially PCU or MS/Telemetry units, highly preferred • Travel nursing experience is an asset • Ability to function in a float pool capacity, adapting to patient acuity needs across units • Preferred certifications: CCRN, PCCN, critical care training • Proficient in electronic health record systems such as EPIC (preferred) Work Schedule: • 12-hour night shifts • Every other weekend and every other holiday rotation Location Overview: Lima, Ohio is a welcoming Midwest city known for its community-oriented atmosphere and accessible amenities.
