Stepdown Registered Nurse - Mishawaka, Indiana in Mishawaka, IN

A registered nurse with experience in stepdown care is sought for a night shift position located in Mishawaka, IN. This contract role focuses on providing flexible acuity care in a stepdown unit with a commitment to quality and patient safety. Qualifications & Desired Experience: • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license with at least 1 year of experience in stepdown or similar acute care • ACLS and BLS certifications required; NIHSS preferred • Proficient in Cerner charting system • Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility; locals not accepted • Pending licenses are accepted, but no first-time nurses for this role Schedule/Hours: • Night shift, 3 x 12-hour shifts per week (7:00 PM to 7:30 AM) • Weekend shifts every other weekend • Holiday coverage: 1 holiday per 13-week contract • No call requirement • Floating required at MS level Responsibilities: • Deliver compassionate, high-quality nursing care to stepdown patients with varied acuity levels • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes • Accurately document all nursing assessments, interventions, and patient responses using Cerner • Adhere to facility protocols and maintain professional standards Additional Information: Travel nurses accepted and allowed to call off twice per assignment, mirroring facility policies.
