An exciting contract opportunity is available for a registered nurse skilled in step-down care at a well-regarded hospital located on a military base in Nevada. This position offers a dynamic and supportive environment on a specialized Intermediate Care Unit (IMC)/Progressive Care Unit (PCU) with advanced equipment and a highly experienced team.
Responsibilities include managing complex patient care involving drips and ventilators, performing advanced procedures such as chest tube management, central line care, emergency intubation, and minor urologic procedures. Nurses are expected to deliver bedside shift reporting and use the AIDET communication framework to enhance patient experience. The role requires working three shifts per week, including every other weekend, with a floating policy prioritizing travelers.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
• Current RN licensure
• PCU/IMC clinical experience is mandatory
• Proficient in ventilator and drip management
• Certified in BLS and ACLS
• Skilled in specialized procedures (chest tubes, central lines, emergency intubations)
• Comfortable working with Meditech documentation system
• Ability to adhere to uniform policy (royal blue scrubs, no artificial nail polish)
• Strong communication and patient care skills
