
Stepdown Registered Nurse | Newport, Vermont in Coventry, VT
Job Description
A registered nurse with stepdown experience is needed for a rewarding night shift position in Newport, VT. This role requires independent decision-making, charge nurse capabilities, and flexibility to float to various units as needed. The setting is a critical access hospital with 25 beds, offering a unique and close-knit environment to practice advanced nursing skills.

Responsibilities:
• Provide specialized nursing care in PCU, MedSurg, and Telemetry units during night shifts
• Perform charge nurse duties, including leadership and coordination of nursing care
• Float to other units when required, demonstrating adaptability and comprehensive nursing skills
• Participate in department quarterly education sessions to maintain and enhance clinical competencies
Qualifications / Desired Experience:
• Valid RN license with stepdown/unit experience
• Ability to work independently and manage team responsibilities effectively
• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
• Flexibility to float to different nursing units as needed
Schedule / Hours:
• Night shift
• Every other weekend rotation
Contract Details:
