Providing specialized nursing care in a dynamic Intermediate Care (IMC) / Stepdown / Progressive Care Unit (PCU) setting, this role demands a skilled RN with strong cardiac, neurological, respiratory, and telemetry expertise. You will deliver compassionate, comprehensive care to patients recovering from complex medical and surgical conditions while working stable 12-hour day shifts.

Qualifications and Experience:
• Active Illinois RN license required—pending licenses not accepted
• Minimum 1 year of Stepdown/Telemetry nursing experience; first-timers not considered
• Current BLS and NIH certifications required; ACLS preferred
• Proficiency in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and use of Rapid Response Teams
• Experience in post-cardiac procedures, neuro/neurosurgery care, ventilator management, and advanced IV therapy (including central line and arterial line care)
• Skilled in managing vasoactive and cardiac drips (titration experience a plus)
• Comfortable with complex medication administration including PCA and procedural sedation
• Knowledge of wound care, isolation precautions, and telemetry charting (Cerner experience preferred)
• Familiarity with Orthopedics, Plastic Surgery post-op care, and renal/hemodialysis management
• Able to float within the unit and accommodate block scheduling on discussion
Shift Schedule:
• Primarily 3x12 or 4x12 day shifts (06:45–19:15)
• Weekend rotation: every other weekend
• No on-call requirement
Responsibilities:
• Deliver vigilant assessment and monitoring of stepdown patients following cardiovascular, neurological, orthopedic, and respiratory interventions
• Manage and interpret telemetry, administer complex IV therapies and medications, and support rapid response evaluation
• Collaborate within an interdisciplinary team in a Level I trauma, Magnet-designated acute care hospital environment
• Adhere to infection control, wound care protocols, and clinically sound documentation practices using Cerner
