Job Description
A professional nursing role is available in a fast-paced Stepdown unit located in Waynesboro, GA. This contract position offers an opportunity to care for adult to geriatric patients across multiple specialized care settings including Medical-Surgical, Telemetry, Progressive Care, ICU, Neuro ICU, and CVICU. With a guaranteed 36 or 48-hour workweek, this assignment allows you to demonstrate critical care skills in a supportive environment equipped with Epic, Pyxis, and SBAR documentation systems.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
• Registered Nurse licensed to practice with at least 1 year of nursing experience (1st-time contract nurses welcome)
• Current certifications in BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale
• Competency in handling diverse patient diagnoses including MS, MS Tele, PCU, ICU, and Neuro ICU
• Comfortable with floating primarily to ICU and also to MS, MS/Tele, PCU, ICU units within the hospital
• Ability to work with electronic medical record systems, especially Epic
• Navy blue scrubs required
• Flexible to work every other weekend and required holidays during the contract
Schedule/Hours:
• Night shifts, 4 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 PM to 7:00 AM)
Responsibilities:
• Implement comprehensive nursing care plans for a 1:2-3 ratio in ICU, 1:4-5 in PCU, and 1:5-6 in MS units
• Monitor patient progress and communicate effectively with interdisciplinary teams
• Utilize electronic charting systems to document patient information and comply with hospital protocols
• Collaborate and float across different units as patient care demands
