Stepdown Registered Nurse | West Lafayette, Indiana in West Lafayette, IN

An opportunity is available for a skilled Registered Nurse with experience in Med Surg Progressive Care Unit (PCU) nursing. This contract position offers the chance to utilize your nursing expertise in a fast-paced acute care setting, providing critical care to stepdown patients who require close monitoring and specialized interventions. Responsibilities include interpreting and managing dysrhythmias, employing rapid response team protocols, and providing advanced airway management including peripheral line care and non-invasive methods. You will work closely with interdisciplinary teams to deliver comprehensive patient care while adhering to isolation precautions and oxygen therapy protocols. The role requires comfort with float ratios of up to 1:5 in MS/PCU settings and demands flexibility to work major holidays. Qualifications and Experience: • Minimum 1.5 years of Med Surg PCU nursing experience; first-timers with relevant experience are welcome • Current BLS certification required • Indiana RN license and required certifications must be active and in-hand prior to starting • Experience with dysrhythmia interpretation and management, rapid response teams, and airway care • Ability to work a float role and meet float ratio requirements • Willingness to work 2 out of 3 major holidays as scheduled Schedule: • Night shifts, three 12-hour shifts (6:00 PM – 6:30 AM) • Guaranteed hours options: 8- or 10-hour shifts totaling 36 to 48 hours per week Located in West Lafayette, IN, this acute care hospital provides high-quality, short-term medical services with a supportive environment.
