An opportunity is available for a skilled Registered Nurse with stepdown care experience to provide high-quality patient care in a progressive medical unit. This contract position offers the chance to work in a dynamic environment equipped with modern technology and a supportive team committed to positive patient outcomes. Responsibilities include providing nursing care to patients on a medical stepdown unit, monitoring cardiac conditions, managing drips and post-procedure care such as cardiac cath and VATS recovery. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver comprehensive care, utilizing equipment such as lifts, dynamap, and cardiac monitors, all integrated into the Meditech EMR system. The role requires adherence to unit guidelines and participation in patient care planning and documentation. Key Qualifications: • Current RN license with stepdown or progressive care unit experience • ACLS and BLS certification required; NIH Stroke Scale certification preferred • Experience with cardiac patient care, including administration of cardiac drips and care post cardiac interventions • Ability to work effectively on day or night shifts with patient ratios averaging 4-5 per nurse • Strong team orientation and a positive, professional attitude • Familiarity with EMR systems, preferably Meditech Location:Situated in Denver, CO, this medical unit resides on the 5th floor of a leading medical center in a vibrant suburban area.
