This contract opportunity seeks a Registered Nurse with experience in stepdown care to work day shifts on a respiratory-intensive unit. The role involves providing direct, high-quality nursing care to patients requiring advanced respiratory support and managing complex medical conditions in a 22-bed stepdown unit. Key Responsibilities: • Deliver comprehensive nursing care using the nursing process—assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient needs. • Monitor and manage patients with respiratory failure, tracheostomies, ventilators, and other critical respiratory interventions. • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care. • Uphold patient confidentiality and professional nursing standards throughout care delivery. • Adapt to a physically demanding work environment, including frequent standing, lifting, and bending. Desired Qualifications: • Current Registered Nurse license eligible or active in Missouri. • Minimum of 1 year stepdown nursing experience, preferably inpatient. • Competency with tracheostomy, ventilator, BiPAP, and advanced respiratory care. • BLS and ACLS certification from the American Heart Association. • Dependable, flexible, and team-oriented with strong clinical judgment. Schedule and Location: • Day shift, 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM. • Competitive guaranteed hours (36 or 48 per week). • Contract length: 13 weeks. • Located in Florissant, Missouri, at a facility known for its advanced cardiac and stroke care and trauma services.
