Provide specialized care for patients in a step-down unit characterized by a diverse patient population including pulmonary, cardiac, neurological, gastrointestinal, and post-surgical cases. This role demands vigilance for patients who are stable yet possess a high risk of becoming unstable, requiring competent assessment and intervention skills. Location: Hurricane, West Virginia Experience minimum: 1+ year in nursing with step-down or similar nursing care Schedule: • Nights, 3 shifts per week • 12-hour shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) Job Type: Contract Key Responsibilities: • Monitor and manage critically ill patients within a 20-bed, private-room step-down unit. • Administer and manage critical drips such as Amiodarone, Esmolol, Insulin, Lasix, Cardizem, and Nitroglycerin. • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient care outcomes. • Maintain compliance with BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certification requirements. • Provide care for a mix of medical-surgical, telemetry, and step-down patients, adapting to dynamic bed availability and patient needs. Qualifications & Desired Experience: • Registered Nurse (RN) licensure. • Minimum one year of experience in a step-down or related clinical setting. • Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certification. • Ability to manage critical drips and complex patient conditions. • Strong clinical judgment and critical thinking skills.
