Stepdown RN - Radcliff, Kentucky in Fort Knox, KY

An opportunity is available for a Registered Nurse skilled in stepdown care to work on a neuro and mixed acuity unit. This contract position offers a chance to care for a diverse patient population while demonstrating clinical expertise in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:
• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in a mixed acuity unit, including neuro and med-surg cases
• Monitor patient status and respond to changes promptly
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation using standard EMR systems
• Float as needed to other mixed acuity floors, ensuring continuity of care
• Adhere to unit policies, dress code, and infection control protocols

Qualifications:
• Current RN license with a minimum of 2 years experience in stepdown or related specialties
• Required certifications: NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS), ACLS, and BLS
• Ability to manage patient ratios of 1:5 to 1:6 effectively
• Familiarity with Cerner EMR preferred
• Strong teamwork skills and adaptability to float between floors

This position offers a 7 PM to 7 AM shift schedule with guaranteed 36 weekly hours and a rotation to cover every third weekend. There are no call requirements attached. The role includes working on a 32-bed unit with a supportive team in a professional healthcare setting.
