Nursing degree, active registered nurse (RN) license and minimum 1+ years RN experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. A Registered Nurse (RN) with extensive critical care experience is needed to provide high-level nursing care in a leading academic medical center. This contract position offers the opportunity to work in a Magnet-certified, Level 1 Trauma Center with exposure to diverse ICU settings. Location: This role is based in Verona, Wisconsin, at a renowned healthcare facility known for its commitment to excellence in patient care and professional development. The hospital is a top-ranked institution recognized for its advanced trauma and specialized ICU services. Schedule/Hours: • Night shifts • 8 to 12-hour shifts (1900-0730) • Every other weekend • Holiday rotation • No call requirements Qualifications / Desired Experience: • Experience across multiple ICU units such as Neuro ICU, Cardiothoracic, Burn ICU, and Trauma Surgery • Minimum two years of acute care experience within the last three years, incorporating adult ICU populations • Previous travel nursing assignment successfully completed (minimum 13 weeks) preferred • Experience in an academic Level 1 Trauma Center preferred • Current nursing license in Wisconsin or compact license from permanent state of residence • BLS and ACLS certifications through the American Heart Association • Proficiency in Epic electronic medical records system, preferably within the last 12 months • Basic Arrhythmia knowledge with ability to pass Telemetry test prior to start Responsibilities: • Deliver exceptional nursing care to critically ill patients in stepdown and ICU settings • Provide care across various adult critical care populations, including Intermediate Care (IMC), Progressive Care, and general care units as needed • Adapt to floating assignments within different departments based on current staffing needs • Participate in the hospitals shared governance and support a collaborative clinical environment This position offers a unique opportunity to advance critical care nursing skills in a prestigious teaching hospital.
