
Stepdown Unit Nurse (RN) in Beloit, WI in Beloit, WI
Job Description
An opportunity is available for a skilled Registered Nurse with Stepdown experience to provide exceptional care within skilled nursing units. This role requires a current Wisconsin RN license and CPR certification. The position offers a contract engagement with a flexible schedule, involving rotation between weekday and weekend shifts to meet patient care demands.
Key Responsibilities:
• Apply the nursing process and work collaboratively with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to support patient care.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments adhering to nursing protocols, policies, and state regulations.
• Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation consistent with standards of care.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans based on physician directives and hospital policies, including patient and family education.
• Engage in performance improvement initiatives and contribute to shared governance activities within the unit.
• Provide clinical expertise to support patient care across various units when requested.
• Exercise critical thinking focusing on patient safety and experience, escalating concerns appropriately.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
• Current Registered Nurse license in Wisconsin.
• Certification in CPR.
• Experience in stepdown or skilled nursing units preferred.
• Strong clinical judgment and communication skills.
• Ability to adapt to floating between in-patient units as census fluctuates.
Schedule:
• 0.9 Full-Time Equivalent (FTE) day shift.
• Shift hours: 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM.
• Rotation between weekdays and weekends.
