Responsibilities: • Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in the Cardiac Medical Unit, handling cases including med/surg telemetry and stroke overflow. • Manage advanced cardiac care procedures such as thoracentesis, peritoneal dialysis (PD), tracheostomies, pacemaker monitoring, and cardiac catheterizations, including CIWA assessments. • Utilize specialized equipment like IV pumps, high-flow oxygen devices, BiPAP machines, and Kangaroo pumps. • Collaborate within a team-based setting, maintaining patient ratios of 5:1 with support from Licensed Nurse Assistants and unit clerks. • Participate in bedside shift rounds and effective handoffs to ensure continuity and quality of care. • Accurately document patient information using the Meditech Expanse system. • Adhere to professional dress code standards and unit-specific policies. Qualifications: • Current RN license with proficiency in telemetry nursing. • Certifications required: Advanced Stroke Life Support (ASLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS). • Experience managing cardiac conditions such as CHF, COPD, chest pain protocols, and post-cardiac catheterization care with radial artery access. • Ability to perform and assist with specialized unit procedures confidently. • Professional appearance and adherence to uniform guidelines. Schedule: • 3 twelve-hour shifts weekly with every other weekend coverage or an optional 4-week shift rotation.
