Position Details: - Location: Derry, NH - Unit: Cardiac Medical Step-Down Unit - Schedule: 3 12-hour shifts plus every other weekend or 4-week shift scheduling options - Patient Ratio: Approximately 5:1 - Documentation System: Meditech Expanse - Equipment: IV pumps, Sara steadys, Hi-flow, BiPAP, Kangaroo pumps Core Responsibilities: - Deliver high-quality nursing care to cardiac step-down patients, including those transferred from Cardiac Surgery Step-Down Unit (CSSU) and Intermediate Cardiac Care Unit (IVCU) - Manage patients with cardiac conditions such as CHF, post-cardiac catheterization (radial artery approach), chest pain evaluations, and stroke overflow - Perform specialized procedures including thoracentesis, peritoneal dialysis, tracheostomy care, pacemaker monitoring, cardiac catheter care, and CIWA protocol management - Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure patient safety and comfort during bedside shift rounds and handoffs - Adhere strictly to unit policies, including professional dress code and certification requirements Qualifications & Desired Experience: - Current Registered Nurse (RN) license - Proficiency in telemetry monitoring - Certifications: Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS), and other unit-required certifications such as ASLS - Experience in critical cardiac care procedures - Ability to work effectively within a team and maintain high patient care standards Benefits:Contract position with flexible scheduling to accommodate work-life balance.
