Stepdown Unit Nurse (RN) in Fort Sill, OK in Lawtonka Acres, OK

Nursing degree, active registered nurse (RN) license and minimum 1+ years RN experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Provide specialized nursing care on a cardiology stepdown unit, managing patients recovering from critical cardiac events and surgeries. This role focuses on caring for individuals with conditions such as STEMI/NSTEMI, chest pain rule out, congestive heart failure, and patients requiring noninvasive ventilation or those recovering post-cardiothoracic surgery. Strong clinical skills in medication administration and patient monitoring are essential in this fast-paced environment.

Location:Positioned in Fort Sill, Oklahoma, the assignment offers a unique opportunity to work within a supportive healthcare community. Schedule:
• 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM shifts
• 33-bed unit with a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio
• 6 weekend shifts every 6 weeks
• Flexible scheduling without block assignments

Qualifications:
• Minimum of 6 months stepdown nursing experience (required)
• Ability to float to Med/Surg or Emergency Department to assist with cardiac vascular care unit and med/surg hold patients (required)
• No history of disciplinary action will be considered

Responsibilities:
• Deliver comprehensive patient care including cardiac monitoring and administration of antiarrhythmic intravenous medications
• Manage complex cases involving peripheral vascular compromise and post-ICU cardiothoracic patients
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to implement care plans and ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Maintain accurate documentation and adhere to hospital policies and safety guidelines
