Stepdown Unit Nurse (RN) in Fulton, MO in Fulton, MO

A healthcare opportunity is available for a registered nurse skilled in stepdown care to provide critical support in a dynamic clinical setting on a contract basis. This role requires proficiency in managing complex patient conditions and delivering high-quality nursing care. Responsibilities: • Provide skilled nursing care to patients in a stepdown unit with various surgical, medical, and neurological conditions. • Manage vascular access devices, including IV insertion, PICC/central lines, and dialysis fistulas. • Administer vasoactive drip titrations such as neosynephrine, amiodarone, and cardizem. • Utilize common clinical equipment, including bladder scanners, IV pumps, PCA pumps, and respiratory support devices like BiPAP, CPAP, and vapotherms. • Deliver airway management, including CPAP/BiPAP and tracheostomy care. • Support orthopedic, musculoskeletal, and oncology patients with epidural/PCA pumps, feeding tubes, and wound vac management. • Maintain effective nurse-patient ratios and participate in floating to meet unit needs as required. Qualifications / Desired Experience: • Active RN license with stepdown nursing experience. • Proficiency in line management including vascular access and cardiac skills. • Ability to perform cardiac procedures such as 12 Lead EKG acquisition and defibrillation preferred. • Skilled in airway and respiratory device management. • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with a variety of patient acuities. Schedule / Hours: • Standard shift schedules with potential flexibility due to unit needs. This contract role allows for schedule adjustments within the defined period, with potential downstaffing based on weekly workload.
