A registered nurse with PCU experience is needed for a contract position in the Kansas City area. This role involves providing specialized nursing care in a stepdown setting, focusing on patients requiring intermediate monitoring and support. Qualifications and Experience: • Active RN license • Minimum of 1 year experience as a PCU nurse • Certifications in ACLS and BLS required; NIHSS certification preferred • Experience with high-acuity patient care, including arterial line management, drips, and Bipap-Airvo, is highly desirable • Must be nicotine-free as this is a nicotine-free facility • Open to floating to lesser units as required • Ability to work major holidays, with possible schedule accommodations Schedule: • 12-hour night shifts (18:45 to 07:15) • Every other weekend required • No on-call responsibilities Responsibilities: • Deliver patient-centered care in a progressive care unit • Monitor and manage patients with complex conditions requiring advanced nursing skills • Collaborate effectively with the healthcare team to ensure quality outcomes • Adhere to hospital policies and procedures within a nicotine-free environment Location: Based near Kansas City, MO, the position is situated in a community with a blend of urban amenities and a rich cultural scene.
