A 13-week contract opportunity is available for a skilled registered nurse with stepdown experience to provide excellent patient care in an acute care hospital setting. Responsibilities • Deliver comprehensive nursing care on the stepdown unit with a 1:3 patient ratio • Manage patients requiring advanced monitoring, including isolation and COVID-19 cases • Administer and monitor drips such as Cardizem, Amiodarone, Heparin, and Dobutamine • Perform or assist with specialized procedures like thoracentesis and paracentesis • Utilize advanced equipment including BiPAP and Airvo • Float as needed to medical telemetry, medical-surgical, and rehab units within scope • Participate in on-call rotations every third weekend • Potential involvement in charge nurse duties where applicable • Accurately document care in EPIC electronic health records Qualifications • 1-2 years of RN experience, ideally with stepdown or critical care exposure • Active MO or compact nursing license • Current ACLS and BLS certifications (AHA only) • Willingness to accept night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 7 pm 7 am) • Ability to adhere to a floating schedule and flexible block scheduling requests • Comfortable managing complex patients and isolation protocols Additional Details • No local travel within 60 miles permitted for this role • Free parking provided onsite • Work within a short-term acute care hospital with 99 staffed beds and EPIC charting system • Scrub color: Black This contract position is an excellent fit for those looking to enhance their critical care nursing skills in a dynamic hospital environment.
