Stepdown Unit Nurse (RN) in Shawnee, KS in Shawnee, KS

Nursing degree, active registered nurse (RN) license and minimum 1+ years RN experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. An opportunity is available for a skilled registered nurse with experience in stepdown care to provide exceptional patient support during evening hours. This role involves delivering high-quality nursing care in a fast-paced medical environment, requiring clinical expertise and compassionate patient interaction. Location This position is located in Shawnee, Kansas, a growing community known for its family-friendly neighborhoods, quality schools, and accessible amenities. Shawnee offers a blend of suburban comfort with convenient access to larger metropolitan areas. Schedule • Evenings, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM • Three shifts per week • One weekend shift required per month Responsibilities • Monitor and assess patients transitioning from intensive care to standard hospital care, ensuring stability and recovery • Administer medications and treatments according to physicians' orders and established protocols • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and update individualized patient care plans • Document patient information accurately and maintain detailed medical records • Respond promptly to patient needs and emergencies, providing critical care support when necessary Qualifications / Desired Experience • Current, active RN license with stepdown nursing experience • Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking abilities • Experience working the evening shift preferred • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented setting • Excellent communication and patient care skills This is a contract position offering the opportunity to work flexible hours within a well-respected healthcare setting.
