Job Highlights:

Your Responsibilities:
• Conduct patient evaluations prior to surgery.
• Provide education to patients and families regarding the procedure and peri-operative process.
• Oversee patient preparation, including IV therapy, preoperative medications, and surgical site verification.
• Participate in surgical site verification processes, including briefs and time-out protocols.
• Recognize and respond effectively to patient emergencies.
• Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care while implementing evidence-based practices.
• Collaborate as an integral member of a dynamic interdisciplinary team, ensuring patient safety and care quality.
• Consistently apply critical thinking, scientific judgment, and leadership skills to provide safe nursing care.
• Monitor and document patient conditions throughout your shift and communicate any changes in care.
• Educate patients and families on medical conditions and follow-up care.
Qualifications:
• Required Experience: Minimum of 1 year in nursing or CVOR/OR.
• Preferred Experience: Cardiac or critical care nursing experience.
• Required Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing or enrollment in a BSN program, to be completed within 5 years of hire. RNs with 10+ years of experience are exempt.
• Preferred Education: Master’s in Nursing.
• Preferred Certification: National Certification in specialty area.
• Required License: Current North Carolina RN licensure; eNLC may apply.
• Required Certification: BLS and ACLS certifications.
