Role Overview: As a Surgical RN, you will deliver professional nursing care to patients undergoing surgical or other invasive procedures. Your expertise is crucial in ensuring a safe and efficient surgical environment. Your Key Responsibilities: • Assist in scrub functions including the selection and handling of instruments and supplies for surgical procedures. • Perform circulating functions, monitoring, recording, and communicating patient conditions before, during, and after procedures. • Support operating physicians with surgical tasks like hemostasis, suturing, and patient positioning. • Prepare operating rooms and surgical instruments to ensure readiness for procedures. • Utilize evidence-based practices to deliver nursing care tailored to the age-specific and clinical needs of patients. • Demonstrate professional nursing standards, guided by the ANA Code of Ethics. • Maintain a constant state of alertness and safety throughout the work shift. • Complete other responsibilities as assigned by supervisors. Qualifications: Education: • Graduation from an accredited nursing school or educational equivalent. Experience: • No previous experience required; new graduates are welcome to apply! Physical Requirements: • Strong communication skills for effective interaction with patients and team members. • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, with frequent lifting of 0-25 lbs. • Good vision and depth perception for precise tasks, as well as the ability to detect and recognize odors and sounds. • Occasional lifting/moving of patients and objects weighing between 25-50 lbs. • Flexible in handling a variety of physical activities. Licensure/Certifications: • Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (BLS HCP) from the American Heart Association. • Registered Nurse (RN) license from a Compact State or Oklahoma Board of Nursing.
