We are currently seeking a dedicated Surgical Registered Nurse to provide exceptional nursing care to patients undergoing surgical procedures. About the Role: As a Surgical Registered Nurse, you will play a vital role in the surgical team, ensuring patient safety and comfort throughout the surgical process. This is a PRN (as needed) position, allowing for flexibility in your work schedule. Your Responsibilities: • Perform scrub functions by selecting and managing surgical instruments and supplies during procedures. • Circulate patients by monitoring their condition, documenting care, and managing nursing care before, during, and after procedures. • Assist the operating physician with critical tasks, including hemostasis, suturing, and patient positioning. • Prepare operating rooms and ensure that all surgical instruments and equipment are sterile and ready for use. • Utilize evidence-based practice and scientific knowledge to deliver age-appropriate nursing care in alignment with departmental standards. • Uphold professional nursing standards and adhere to the ANA Code of Ethics in all patient interactions. • Maintain a constant state of alertness and safety in the workplace. • Carry out additional duties as assigned to support the surgical team. Qualifications: • Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing program. • Experience: No prior experience is required. Physical Requirements: • Effective communication skills for sharing information verbally. • Frequent standing, walking, and the ability to lift/carry and push/pull objects weighing up to 25 lbs. • Occasional lifting/moving of patients and objects weighing between 25-50 lbs. • Ability to perform tasks requiring bending, stooping, kneeling, and other physical movements. Certifications: • Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider (BLS HCP) certification from the American Heart Association. • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in your state of practice. Work Schedule: Day shifts available with flexible hours.
