Job Description
A Surgical Technologist is needed to provide critical support during operative procedures, ensuring a safe and efficient environment in the operating room. This contract position is located in Montana and involves collaboration with surgeons, registered nurses, and sterile processing personnel to uphold patient safety and surgical quality.
Key Responsibilities:
• Prepare and complete surgical case carts according to detailed preference cards.
• Interpret and apply surgical techniques, anatomy knowledge, and procedural protocols to assist the surgical team.
• Communicate effectively with operating room and sterile processing staff to coordinate instrumentation for scheduled and unscheduled cases.
• Review daily surgical schedules with nursing and sterile processing leadership to anticipate and address turnover and scheduling challenges.
• Manage core communications within the department, delegating tasks and coordinating breaks.
• Serve as a resource for materials and instrument procurement, liaising with sterile processing and materials management teams.
Qualifications and Experience:
• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of an accredited Surgical Technologist program or equivalent military training.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Demonstrated expertise in surgical technology, human anatomy, and operative procedures.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
