An experienced Registered Nurse with operating room expertise is needed for an 8-week contract position in Des Plaines, IL, supporting a leading hospital setting. This role offers a full-time schedule with a Monday to Friday shift from 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM, complemented by an on-call rotation providing flexibility and variety in your workweek. Key Responsibilities: • Deliver skilled perioperative nursing care in the operating room • Support general surgery with proficient use of the DaVinci robotic system • Provide specialized ophthalmology nursing expertise • Collaborate effectively with a strong, cohesive surgical team • Maintain patient safety and comfort throughout surgical procedures Qualifications and Experience: • Current Illinois RN license • Minimum 2 years of operating room experience, including at least one previous travel contract • Proficiency with Epic electronic health records system • Expertise in ophthalmology and DaVinci robotic surgery is essential • BLS certification required • Ability to respond to weekend on-call shifts within 30 minutes radius Additional Details: • 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with weekend on-call rotation • Orientation available any weekday prior to the assignment start • Pre-employment screenings including CBC, drug screening, and QuantiFERON gold test within 90 days • Assignments start mid-February About Des Plaines, IL: Des Plaines offers a comfortable suburban environment with easy access to Chicago, ideal for professionals who prefer a community-oriented lifestyle while staying close to a major metropolitan area.
