Job Description
A seasoned Registered Nurse with operating room expertise is needed to support a dynamic ambulatory surgical environment in North Charleston, SC. This contract role emphasizes delivering high-quality perioperative care and requires adaptability to varied surgical cases. The position entails a work schedule with options including three 12-hour shifts or four 10-hour day shifts, with occasional extended hours for case completion. Weekend work is not required, and there is no on-call duty. Floating within the perioperative facility may be necessary to meet operational needs.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide skilled nursing care in the operating room, ensuring patient safety and adherence to protocols.
• Collaborate with surgical teams to support diverse procedures including ophthalmology, orthopedics, ENT, gynecology, genitourinary, endocrine, and surgical oncology.
• Precept and mentor care team members when required, fostering a supportive and educational environment.
• Comply with agency and facility policies, including radiation safety by using a required radiation badge.
• Participate in emergency response teams as needed during hurricane season (June through November).
Qualifications and Experience:
• Current South Carolina or multi-state/compact RN license.
• Minimum of 2 years of operating room experience.
• BLS certification required.
• Preferred experience includes specialties such as ophthalmology, orthopedic surgery, ENT, gynecology, genitourinary, endocrine, and surgical oncology.
• Must provide a radiation badge via agency.
• First-time operating room nurses will not be considered for this role.
Schedule:
• Day shifts, offering flexibility with either 3x12-hour (6:30 am to 7:00 pm) or 4x10-hour (6:30 am to 5:00 pm) schedules.
• One late week per month to accommodate case volume.
• No weekend or on-call requirements.
