Telemetry Registered Nurse - Decatur, Indiana in Decatur, IN

A registered nurse with telemetry experience is needed to provide specialized care for cardiac telemetry patients in a 24-bed unit. This contract role offers day shifts from 7:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., with every other weekend rotation and an option for block scheduling. The position requires a strong ability to interpret telemetry strips and administer cardiac medications, ensuring patient safety and accurate documentation. Responsibilities • Provide comprehensive care for patients with cardiac diagnoses such as A-Fib RVR, Chest Pain, CHF, and other medical-surgical cases requiring telemetry monitoring due to electrolyte imbalances. • Interpret telemetry strips accurately and respond promptly to cardiac events. • Administer and manage cardiac medications via oral, IV push, and IV drip routes. • Perform thorough assessments and deliver bedside shift reports. • Maintain patient safety and follow established protocols. • Collaborate with the healthcare team to support patient outcomes. • Float to other units as needed. Required Qualifications • Valid Registered Nurse license in Indiana. • Current BLS and ACLS certifications. • Minimum 2 years of telemetry nursing experience. • Proficiency with Cerner EMR system. • Ability to work holidays as scheduled during the contract. • Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible. • Ability to adhere to a patient ratio typically between 1:5 and 1:6. • Comfortable wearing navy blue department scrubs.
