
Telemetry Registered Nurse - Elyria, Ohio in Amherst (Township), OH
Job Description
A registered nurse with expertise in Med/Surg Telemetry is needed for a contract position in Elyria, OH. This role requires a minimum of 18 months of recent, permanent experience in Med/Surg Telemetry prior to the contract assignment. Candidates must hold a permanent Ohio nursing license or be licensed in a compact state. Essential certifications include American Heart Association BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS.
The position involves working three 12-hour shifts on a day/night rotating schedule (7:00 AM to 7:30 PM and 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM). While the schedule primarily consists of these shifts, some variability may be required to meet the hospital's operational needs, with a commitment to work at least every other holiday. Orientation includes passing assessments in ECG rhythm recognition and safe medication administration.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide skilled nursing care on a telemetry medical-surgical unit
• Continuously monitor cardiac rhythms and intervene appropriately
• Administer medications and treatments safely in accordance with protocols
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient status and care provided
• Support hospital policies and procedures, including compliance with safety standards
Qualifications & Experience:
• Minimum 18 months recent, permanent Med/Surg Telemetry nursing experience
• Permanent Ohio RN license or compact state license active and in good standing
• Certified in BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS by recognized organizations
• Ability to pass ECG rhythm recognition and safe medication administration assessments
• Flexibility to work rotating shifts and holidays as required
