
Telemetry Registered Nurse - Huntington, Indiana in Huntington, IN
Job Description
An opportunity is available for a registered nurse skilled in telemetry nursing to provide care for cardiac telemetry patients. This contract position involves delivering high-quality nursing care to patients with various cardiac diagnoses, including atrial fibrillation with rapid ventricular response, chest pain, congestive heart failure, and medical-surgical patients requiring telemetry monitoring due to electrolyte imbalances.
Responsibilities:
• Monitor and interpret telemetry strips accurately.
• Administer and manage cardiac medications via PO, IV push, and IV drip.
• Conduct thorough patient assessments and document findings in the electronic medical record.
• Provide bedside shift reports to ensure continuity of care.
• Maintain patient safety following all clinical protocols.
• Adhere to scheduled holiday coverage as required during the contract.
Qualifications and Experience:
• Valid Indiana RN license.
• Current BLS and ACLS certification.
• Minimum of 2 years of telemetry nursing experience.
• Proficiency with Cerner electronic medical records system preferred.
• Ability to float to other units as needed.
• Strong cardiac nursing skills with ability to manage telemetry patients safely and efficiently.
Schedule:
• Day shifts from 7:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.
• Every other weekend rotation.
• Option for block scheduling.
Additional Details:
• Unit houses 24 beds with a patient-to-nurse ratio ranging between 1:5 and 1:6.
• Department scrub color: Navy Blue.
• Travel contract duration: 13 weeks.
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from Huntington, Indiana.
• Required license and certifications must be submitted for consideration.
