An experienced Registered Nurse is needed to provide specialized care in a dynamic cardiovascular telemetry unit. This night-shift role requires vigilance and expertise in managing cardiac patients with diverse conditions within a 54-bed unit. The position offers a contract opportunity starting ASAP and demands a compassionate professional ready to adapt to variable patient ratios and support a critical care team. Location: This position is based in Kalamazoo, MI, a vibrant city known for its healthcare facilities and community spirit. Schedule: • 4 x 12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM 7:30 AM) • Every other weekend required • Holiday coverage: Must work two out of three holidays • No call requirements • Block scheduling is not guaranteed but management strives for accommodation • Guaranteed 36 hours per week Qualifications: • Registered Nurse (RN) license required • Minimum 1 year nursing experience; first-time telemetry nurses welcome • Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications mandatory • Must live at least 50 miles from the facility (locals not accepted) • Comfortable working with patient ratios typically ranging from 1:5 to 1:7 during call-ins Responsibilities: • Care for patients primarily on cardiac monitoring including heart failure, heart attack (STEMI/NSTEMI), stroke requiring telemetry, arrhythmias, and chest pain • Administer and monitor cardiac drips and manage critical cardiovascular care • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams for comprehensive patient management • Utilize Cerner PowerChart for documentation and patient care coordination This cardiovascular telemetry unit offers an immersive healthcare experience with a specialized patient population and supportive team environment.
