Deliver advanced nursing care on a 24-bed Intermediate Care Unit specializing in neuro stepdown and cardiac telemetry for adult patients. This role requires expertise in critical care skills including IV starts, central and peripheral line management, respiratory and gastrointestinal care, and complex medication administration. The position offers a focused night shift schedule with every-other-weekend rotations, ideal for experienced RNs aiming to apply their specialized knowledge in a dynamic healthcare environment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide direct patient care in neuro stepdown and cardiac telemetry settings
• Manage IV starts, port access, PICC lines, and blood product administration
• Deliver respiratory care including trach management, oxygen therapies, and chest tube maintenance
• Oversee feeding tube management and administer medications such as PCA, procedural sedation, and heparin protocols
• Monitor and interpret telemetry, handle cardiac and vasoactive drips (without titration)
• Perform wound care, isolation precautions, and assist with hemodialysis procedures
• Participate in rapid response teams and maintain unit safety standards
• Float to other qualified units as necessary, adhering to facility competencies
• Utilize EPIC electronic charting with minimum 1-year experience
Qualifications/Desired Experience:
• Active SC or multistate RN license required
• Minimum 2 years neuro stepdown and cardiac telemetry nursing experience
• Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS mandatory
• Strong proficiency in telemetry monitoring, cardiac care, and critical care nursing
• Familiarity with hospital protocols for patient safety and infection control
• Ability to work night shifts, including every other weekend
Schedule:
• Nights, 3 shifts per week, 12-hour shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
