Job Description
An opportunity is available for a registered nurse with MedSurg and Telemetry experience to join a dynamic healthcare team on a contract basis. This assignment is located in Milledgeville, GA, requiring flexibility to float across multiple MedSurg and Telemetry units as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide comprehensive nursing care for patients on medical-surgical and telemetry inpatient units.
• Manage patient assignments with ratios generally ranging from 1:4 to 1:6 for RN care.
• Perform tracheostomy care, chest tube management, and PIV starts.
• Administer and monitor common drips, including insulin and heparin, ensuring proper titration based on heart rate protocols.
• Collaborate effectively with CNAs, unit secretaries, charge nurses, and support staff to maintain a safe and efficient care environment.
• Utilize EPIC EMR and operate various monitoring and medication dispensing technologies essential to patient care.
• Participate in orientation, educational modules, and unit float assignments.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
• Minimum of 2 years nursing experience in medical-surgical and telemetry settings.
• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred.
• Proficiency in EKG interpretation and competency, with completion of a facility-specific EKG exam during onboarding.
• MedSurg certification is advantageous.
• Willingness to accept first-time travelers.
