A registered nurse with expertise in telemetry is needed for a rewarding 13-week contract at a respected medical center. This night-shift role focuses on caring for adult and geriatric patients with complex cardiac and neurological conditions in a specialized telemetry unit. Location: This role is based in Pasadena, MD, a community known for its scenic waterfronts along Chesapeake Bay, excellent dining options, and convenient access to nearby urban centers. Schedule/Hours • Night shift: 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM • Three 12-hour shifts per week • Every other weekend required • Holidays as scheduled Key Responsibilities • Provide skilled nursing care to telemetry patients with cardiac diagnoses, stroke/TIA, and stable post-cardiac catheterization conditions • Manage specialty drips such as Cardizem (non-titratable), Amiodarone, Heparin, Protonix, and Lasix • Utilize remote telemetry monitoring with the Hicuity System to track patient heart rhythms • Operate specialized equipment including Zebra portable phones, Alaris IV pumps, and Coviden feeding pumps • Float within the specialty and to lower acuity units as needed • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure holistic patient care Required Qualifications • Active RN license in Maryland • BLS and ACLS certifications • Minimum 1 year experience in telemetry nursing; first-time travelers with strong skills considered • Proficient with managing telemetry and specialty drips • Ability to work night shifts and commit to occasional holiday coverage This opportunity offers the chance to sharpen your telemetry nursing skills in a dynamic environment with flexible scheduling and valuable clinical experiences.
