A rewarding opportunity is available for a Registered Nurse with telemetry experience to provide specialized care on a busy cardiovascular telemetry unit. This contract position offers a structured night shift schedule, where skilled nursing professionals deliver expert care to cardiac patients using advanced monitoring technology. Responsibilities • Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients on a 54-bed cardiac telemetry unit. • Monitor cardiac patients remotely and directly, using advanced telemetry equipment. • Manage patients with heart failure, STEMI/NSTEMI, stroke requiring cardiac monitoring, arrhythmias, and chest pain. • Administer cardiac drips and coordinate care with interdisciplinary teams. • Document patient information accurately using Cerner Powerchart. • Adhere to night shift hours: 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, working four 12-hour shifts per week. • Participate in weekend coverage every other weekend and fulfill holiday shift requirements. Qualifications • Active RN license with at least one year of telemetry nursing experience. • Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications. • Comfortable working with patient-to-nurse ratios ranging from 1:5 to 1:7 during high census periods. • Ability to work independently on a fast-paced cardiac telemetry unit. • Travelers residing at least 50 miles from Portage are encouraged to apply. This contract role does not offer call requirements but requires a commitment to a block scheduling format that managers will do their best to accommodate. While weekend coverage is every other weekend, and holiday shifts are required for 2 out of 3 holidays worked.
