A nursing opportunity is available for a Registered Nurse with telemetry expertise to support adult to geriatric patient populations. This role requires clinical proficiency in cardiac care and hemodynamic monitoring within a busy hospital setting. The position is contract-based and located in Stockbridge, GA, offering a night shift schedule with three 12-hour shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM.
Qualifications And Desired Experience
• Minimum of 1 year nursing experience in telemetry; first-time travelers are not accepted
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• Proficient in managing arrhythmias, cardioversion, and cardiac conditions such as CHF and chest pain
• Experience with cardiac drips (amiodarone, cardizem, dobutamine, dopamine, nitroglycerin, milrinone) and hemodynamic monitoring
• Familiarity with renal and pulmonary care (e.g., COPD, pulmonary edema, PE, DVT)
• Skilled in care of post cardiac cath patients and use of TR bands
• Ability to manage basic arrhythmias, surgical patients (cholecystectomy, appendectomies, chest tubes), and occasional vascular and orthopedic or CVA patient overflow
• Comfortable working with unit systems including Epic (preferred), Pyxis, and SBAR communication tools
Responsibilities And Duties
• Provide high-quality nursing care on an overflow Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) with a patient-to-nurse ratio typically of 5 to 6 in a 32-bed unit
• Administer and monitor medications, including complex cardiac drips
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure patient safety and optimal recovery
• Float within the facility as needed, adhering to scope of practice
• Participate in a clinical screening process prior to assignment confirmation
• Work scheduled night shifts, and be available for occasional weekend or holiday coverage as required
Schedule And Work Details
• Night shift: 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 PM to 7:00 AM)
• Weekend rotations every other weekend
• Call is rare, with a two-hour response expectation
• Strict compliance with orientation and onboarding timelines
