Job Title: Travel RN Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Progressive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Current RN license Certifications: ACLS Description: Travel RN position available in the Progressive Care Unit. This is a high acuity cardiac unit with a fast-paced environment. The unit has 20 beds and a staff of 40 members. Day shift includes 1 Charge RN, 5 nurses, and 3 Patient Care Technicians. Night shift consists of 1 Charge RN, 5 nurses, and 2 Patient Care Technicians. Patient ratios are 1:4. Equipment utilized includes telemetry, transport monitors, suction, feeding pumps, trachs, BiPAP, CPAP, heated high flow, chest tubes, Foley catheters, pacer wires, IV pumps, and SCD pumps. Electronic medical record system used is Meditech. Candidates must have PCU experience and cardiac experience. Skills in managing drips such as heparin, diltiazem, amiodarone, nitroglycerin, Lasix, and ketamine are required. Typical procedures performed include chest tube placement, chest tube removal, and 12-lead EKGs. Candidates should possess a great team-player attitude and high energy.
