Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12H Nights Hours per Shift: 7p-7a Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Must have post procedural cardiac experience (cath lab, ablations, open heart). Prefer PCU and Stepdown experience. Must be able to read and interpret telemetry and document it appropriately. Description: This position requires 2 years of experience in a telemetry setting. Candidates will need to float between units as necessary. The unit has 20 beds with a cardiac focus, covering post-op procedural cases such as open heart surgeries and angioplasties. Nurse-to-patient ratios may vary depending on staffing and census. Common diagnoses include CHF, sepsis, electrolyte imbalances, and post-stroke care. Nurses are expected to manage and interpret telemetry, including strips. Charge nurses are present on each shift and typically do not take patient assignments. Respiratory therapy is available on site, and nurses may assist when necessary. Weekend shifts are required, with 5-6 shifts expected within a 6-week schedule. Floating to other medical-surgical and telemetry units may be required. Dress code allows for any color scrubs.
