Description This a Bargaining Unit Position Job Posting Date: 01/23/2026 2 Positions Available Maine Medical Center is seeking a registered nurse to join their Surgery Trauma Program team as a Process Improvement Coordinator. The RN selected for this position will monitor safety performance and data collection for the Trauma Center with an eye toward process improvement. Key to this role is identifying, bringing forward, and recommending solutions for possible issues that could impact MMC’s accreditation. Master's in Nursing preferred.Prior trauma clinical, research and / or other strong clinical background required. Prior experience at a Level I or II trauma center is preferred. Demonstrated experience in process / performance improvement is required. Knowledge of professional clinical practice, clinical processes, and the appropriateness of clinical interventions, as well as specific program or unit knowledge at a level normally acquired through at least five years of progressive experience. • This position is hybrid and sits onsite at Maine Medical Center-Portland 2-3 days per week*** Summary The Trauma Performance Improvement Coordinator is responsible for monitoring and evaluating clinical and regulatory performance of Maine Medical Center’s ACS verified Level I Trauma Center. This work encompasses all facets of patient care ranging from prehospital to discharge. This position monitors PI indicators and initiates and directs action plans in order to achieve and maintain Level 1 Verification. The TPIC manages, coordinates and documents real-time chart reviews and plans, prepares and coordinates quality initiatives. Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities (KSAs) • Education: Bachelor's Degree in nursing required, Masters degree preferred. • License/Certifications: Current License to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of Maine. • Experience: Prior trauma clinical, research and / or other strong clinical background required. Prior experience at a Level I or II trauma center is preferred. Demonstrated experience in process / performance improvement is required. Knowledge of professional clinical practice, clinical processes, and the appropriateness of clinical interventions, as well as specific program or unit knowledge at a level normally acquired through at least five years of progressive experience. • TNCC-Instructor status required within 12 months of hire.
