Responsibilities Ambulatory Care Clinic RNs, also called outpatient nurses, provide treatment under the supervision of a physician or advanced practice nurse. Outpatient RNs job responsibilities include, but are not limited to: • Provide ongoing general medical services to patients within the clinic • Perform physical exams and gather patient history • Administer treatments such as immunizations and blood draw • Educate patients about chronic diseases such as asthma or diabetes
