Travel RN Position Job Notes: Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available. Opportunity: RN - PCU Job Details: • Work in 4Heart Cardiovascular Progressive Care (CVPC) unit with 40 cardiac surgery stepdown beds • Maintain patient ratios of 1:5 patients per RN • Day shift includes 1 charge RN, 13 RNs, 4 PCTs, and 1.33 HUC • Night shift includes 1 charge RN, 13 RNs, 4 PCTs, and 0.33 HUC • Care for primary patient population of CV surgery and vascular surgery patients including open heart surgery, thoracic lung surgery, esophagogastrectomy, and vascular procedures • Handle overflow medical cardiology patients with heart failure, DKA, chest pain, sepsis, and heart block • Perform epidural management, chest tube management, tube feedings, IV glucommander, and cardiac drip management • Work with equipment including Baxter IV pumps, CADD epidural pumps, and various lifts • Use Cerner EMR system • Required certifications: ACLS and BLS • Stepdown and telemetry experience required • CV surgery and vascular surgery experience preferred • Float to any stepdown units (1:5 ratios), medical surgical units (1:6-7 ratios), or ER inpatient holding area (1:6) • Weekend requirement minimum of 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule period • No on-call responsibilities • Dress code: All navy, white tops/navy bottoms, or all white scrubs • Must be team player, enjoy fast-paced environment, and demonstrate flexibility Facility: This flagship healthcare facility is licensed for 815 beds and serves as the region's referral center with comprehensive specialty services.
