Job Description - Chronic Dialysis Registered Nurse
• Provide direct patient care for individuals undergoing dialysis treatment in outpatient or chronic settings.
• Assess and monitor patients' health status before, during, and after treatment.
• Administer prescribed dialysis treatments, medications, and fluid therapy as directed by physicians.
• Educate patients and their families on dialysis processes, medications, and dietary guidelines.
• Operate and ensure proper maintenance of dialysis equipment, adhering to all sterilization protocols.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to create tailored care plans for each patient.
• Document patient care and treatment outcomes in electronic medical records (EMR).
• Respond promptly to any adverse reactions or complications during treatment.
• Maintain high standards of infection control and safety in the treatment environment.
• Provide emotional support and compassionate care to patients living with chronic kidney disease.
• Train and mentor new nursing staff or dialysis technicians when necessary.
• Engage in quality improvement initiatives while complying with all relevant state and federal regulations regarding dialysis care.
Job Requirements
• Must have at least 1 year of recent experience as a dialysis nurse.
• Graduate from an accredited nursing program.
• Hold a current state-specific RN license in good standing or a compact state RN license in good standing.
• BLS certification is required (for both chronic and acute settings).
• ACLS certification is required (for acute settings only).
