Job Description
American Traveler is seeking a skilled RN for a Level II Trauma Emergency Department role in California requiring CA RN license and extensive emergency care certifications.
Responsibilities
Work in a combined adult and pediatric Emergency Department in a Level II Trauma Center
Facility is STEMI and Stroke certified
Day shift, 3x12s with alternating start times including 7:00am, 10:00am, and 12:00pm
Every other weekend required, with Sunday not considered a weekend
Possible floating to the DOU unit with patient assignments within scope of practice
Patient care involves advanced trauma, neuro-trauma, psychiatric, orthopedic, and medical emergencies
Meditech charting used; experience is preferred but not required
Responsible for emergency assessment, prioritization, and care of patients across the full age spectrum
Expected to manage high acuity scenarios including trauma, cardiac, neurological, and psychiatric emergencies
Participation in facility-specific modules is mandatory, typically completed during initial orientation
Must adhere to facility dress code and isolation precautions
Former permanent staff must have a separation of at least 365 days to be eligible as a traveler
Travel pairs accepted, but matching schedules are not guaranteed
Requirements
Active CA RN license required
Current ACLS, BLS, MAB, NIHSS, and PALS certifications
Experience in a busy Emergency Department, preferably in a Level II Trauma or similar setting
Competency in dysrhythmia interpretation, 12-lead EKGs, arterial and central line management, blood product administration, phlebotomy, IV skills, emergency medications, and ventilator management
Ability to manage complex emergencies including multisystem organ failure, neuro-trauma, psychiatric emergencies, and trauma cases
Must be able to submit all RTO requests prior to consideration
