ER RN Qualifications & Requirements

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license – Illinois or compact state

Minimum 1 year of recent Emergency Room nursing experience (more preferred)

Pediatric ER experience preferred

BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required

TNCC certification preferred (may be waived with strong ER experience)

Ability to provide clinical support to a diverse patient population in emergency situations

First-time travel nurses welcome with sufficient ER experience

Emergency Room Nurse Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality, compassionate care in a fast-paced 35-bed Emergency Department with 2 trauma bays

Utilize ESI triage algorithm and participate in patient triage as needed

Care for trauma, stroke, STEMI, mental health, and pediatric patients

Administer and monitor critical care drips and medications

Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, LPNs, techs, and paramedics to provide comprehensive emergency care

Perform blood draws, EKGs, and assist with patient transport

Monitor and interpret telemetry strips

Work within a supportive healthcare team environment with 24/7 charge nurse and in-house security during peak hours
