Position Overview
The GI / Endoscopy RN provides specialized nursing care for patients undergoing GI procedures across both hospital campuses, supporting both outpatient and inpatient workflows. This role includes participation in the Endoscopy on-call rotation and requires strong critical thinking, patient assessment, and collaboration skills.
OR nurses with Endoscopy training/experience are welcome to apply.
Core Responsibilities
• Provide nursing care throughout all phases of GI/Endoscopy procedures
• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized care plans
• Administer medications and moderate sedation per protocol
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation
• Collaborate closely with physicians, anesthesia, and procedural staff
• Educate patients and families on pre- and post-procedure expectations
• Respond effectively to emergencies and follow established safety protocols
• Participate in Endoscopy call coverage
• Uphold all hospital and nursing division policies, procedures, and standards
• Support a safe, compassionate, patient-centered environment
• Engage in team communication, staff collaboration, and professional development
Required Competencies
• Strong GI / Endoscopy procedural knowledge
• Ability to work independently and within a fast-paced procedural environment
• Competent in conscious sedation and post-procedure recovery
• Experience managing both outpatient and inpatient GI procedural workflows
Who We’re Looking For
• RN with Endoscopy experience or OR RN with documented Endoscopy training
• Strong assessment skills and clinical judgment
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
• Comfortable rotating between campuses and participating in call
