Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) - Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Job Type: Contract (13 Weeks) Shift: Nights and Weekends (36 hours per week; 3x12-hour shifts) Start Date: March 2, 2026 Position Summary We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to join a collaborative healthcare team in the ICU. This role is responsible for the assessment, diagnosis, and implementation of care plans for high-acuity patients. You will work closely with other medical professionals to provide evidence-based intervention, patient education, and family support in a fast-paced environment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities • Collects and analyzes comprehensive data to determine patient diagnoses and health issues. • Develops and implements individualized plans of care using strategies that promote a safe environment. • Evaluates nursing practice in relation to professional standards, statutes, and regulations. • Collaborates with patients, families, and colleagues to ensure effective care delivery. • Participates in stroke-specific care protocols and maintains compliance with acute stroke education requirements. • Maintains professional demeanor and sound judgment under high-stress conditions. Minimum Qualifications • Licensure: Current and active Montana State Registered Nurse License. • Certifications: • American Heart Association BLS (Required at hire). • NIHSS Certification (Must be obtained within 6 months of hire). • American Heart Association ACLS (Must be obtained within 8 months of hire). • American Heart Association PALS (Must be obtained within 8 months of hire). • Experience: Open to candidates with various experience levels, including those with less than 1 year of experience. • Software: Experience with EPIC EMR is preferred. Schedule and Physical Requirements • Schedule: Regular attendance is required for 12-hour night shifts, including weekends and holidays. Occasional on-call shifts may be necessary. • Traveler Requirement: Candidates must reside at least 90 miles away from the facility to be eligible for this contract. • Physical Demands: • Repeatedly lifting up to 50 pounds. • Frequent standing, walking, twisting, and bending. • Fine-finger movements for data entry and medical equipment operation. • Continuous exposure to bloodborne pathogens and emotionally challenging situations. Additional Information • This is a 13-week contract position. • The facility reserves the right to cancel up to three shifts per contract period due to low census or unforeseen circumstances.
